Two Arrested After Road Rage Incident in San Mateo

SAN MATEO, CA  — “On July 28, 2025, at 10:53 a.m., the San Mateo Police Department responded to the area of S Railroad Ave and Birch Ave for a report of a subject brandishing a knife during a verbal altercation. Officers arrived on scene, and two adult males, Ramiro Antonfrancisco, and Willy Gomezperez, were detained. It was alleged to officers that, during a road rage incident, Antonfrancisco had swung a sharp object at two separate adult victims, and that both Antonfrancisco and Gomezperez tried to strike one of the victims with fists.

Over the course of the investigation, officers obtained multiple victim and witness statements, as well as independent surveillance footage, that established probable cause to arrest both Antonfrancisco and Gomezperez for violations of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime. Antonfrancisco and Gomezperez were booked into the San Mateo County Jail for their charges.

We ask our community members to stay alert. We need community support in reporting crimes and suspicious activities. If you see a suspicious person, vehicle, or activity, call SMPD. Trust your instincts. See Something, Say Something.
