Man Arrested – Threatening to “Shoot Up” Main Jail

SACRAMENTO, CA  —  “On July 24, 2025, a then-unknown subject called the Main Jail public line and made several statements threatening to “shoot up” the jail and Deputies there. The Sheriff’s Threat Management Unit was advised and began investigating the incident. They were able to identify the caller who made the threats as 47-year-old Scott Lemar Brown of Sacramento.

With assistance from the Central Patrol Division, Brown was taken into custody and booked into the Main Jail on felony PC 422 (Criminal Threats), where he remains ineligible for bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 28.

Brown’s booking photo is ineligible for public release, per California law.”
