LIVERMORE — A suspect is in custody in connection with a stabbing attack that occurred
in 2024.

Adan F. Parra-Ruiz, 19 of Livermore, was spotted by an observant officer on patrol.

Parra-Ruiz was apprehended after being observed riding a bicycle near Pine Street and
Rincon Avenue in Livermore.

The patrol officer recognized him as a suspect, with an outstanding Ramey arrest warrant for attempted murder.

Parra-Ruiz allegedly planned a sophisticated attack on the victim.

The brutal stabbing occurred on October 26, 2024. Fortunately, the victim survived the ordeal.

Investigators identified Parra-Ruiz as the suspect, but he remained at large until recently.
When the officer spotted him on July 19, he attempted to flee by bicycle.

“Additional officers quickly responded,” Livermore police said in a prepared statement. “They
coordinated a containment perimeter and saturated the surrounding area.”

Officers searched for the suspect inside the perimeter. Parra-Ruiz was seen next on
Chestnut Street, where he was arrested at 2:30 p.m.

Parra-Ruiz was booked into Alameda County Santa Rita Jail for the outstanding warrant and resisting/obstructing an officer.

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office filed charges on July 23 against Parra-Ruiz.

His charges include assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious bodily injury, and
related felonies.

He remains in custody in lieu of $110,000 bond, pending a plea hearing on July 29.
