DISPOSITION OF INJURIES: Officer received a laceration from a broken “Meth” pipe
SUMMARY: Corning Police responded to a vegetation fire South of the Skate Park on Toomes Ave. Upon arrival, the Fire Department had the fire extinguished. Multiple witnesses were contacted. The described female suspect was later located in the dry creek bed of Jewitt Creek under the bridge. While the Officer attempted to detain the female suspect, she started a fire in front of the Officers in the dry creek bed.
Officers managed to put out the fire and the female suspect was taken into custody. The suspect is believed to be responsible for two more fires within the Corning area. Cal Fire is currently investigating. The suspect was medically cleared and transported and booked into the Tehama County Jail.
