Two Arrested as Redwood City Police Follow Up on Firearm Negligence Investigation

REDWOOD CITY, CA  —  “On July 9th, 2025, at approximately 11:51 a.m. Redwood City Police Department Officers were in the area conducting a follow up investigation regarding the negligent discharge of a firearm. While on scene, Officers encountered suspect Zheng Fang (27) of Redwood City as he was leaving the area. Fang was stopped, and a loaded handgun was in plain view where he had been seated in his vehicle. Fang was arrested and a search of his vehicle yielded an additional two firearms, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Fang’s girlfriend, Yixuan Wang (25) was contacted and a search of her vehicle revealed further narcotics paraphernalia and ‘Ghost’ gun components. Redwood City Police Department Street Crimes Suppression Team (SCST) members as well as Redwood City Police Detectives and ATF agents authored a search warrant for Fang and Wang’s residence. The search warrant was executed and revealed further firearms, ammunition, and equipment used for the manufacturing of firearms. A total of five (5) complete handguns were recovered, along with several incomplete firearms.

Both suspects were booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on several weapons charges.
