SUSPECT(S): Maria V. Pena, 37-year-old resident of Murrieta
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Maria Pena arrived at the Central Detention Center to visit an inmate. Prior to the visit, Pena was observed attempting to smuggle suspected narcotics into the facility.
Following an investigation, Pena was arrested at her residence in Murrieta on June 27, 2025, by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the Jail Intelligence Team (JIT). She was subsequently booked for attempting to smuggle narcotics into a jail facility.
