Suspect Arrested for Breaking into Vehicles at Walnut Acres Mobile Home Park

BRENTWOOD, CA  — A 34-year-old Brentwood resident was arrested on June 23 for allegedly breaking
into vehicles at Walnut Acres Mobile Home Park.

The suspect Kyle R. Simpkin remains in custody at the West County Detention Facility in lieu of $20,000 bond.

Police responded after a witness reported seeing a man inside a vehicle taking items, Brentwood
police said in a prepared statement, “Upon arrival, officers discovered the suspect had entered two
additional vehicles in the area.”

The thefts occurred on June 22 at approximately 11 p.m. Officers searched the area in the vicinity of
Walnut Boulevard where the mobile home park is located.

A man later identified as Simpkin was caught in the glare of police search lights.

He raised his arms to surrender himself to police in the early hours of June 23.

“Simpkin was found in possession of various stolen items and he was placed under arrest,” according
to the police report.

Simpkin was transported to county jail for booking. He faces charges for burglary, petty theft, receiving
or concealing stolen property, and possession of burglar’s tools.

The stolen property found in his in possession was returned to its rightful owners in the mobile home park community.

No stranger to law enforcement, Simpkin has prior arrests in Plumas County for possession and use
of a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. He also has a prior arrest for public intoxication on
his record.
