Two Busted for Gun Violations in Oxnard

OXNARD, CA  —  June 18, 2025 — A months-long investigation into illegal firearms trafficking culminated in two early morning
arrests.

Ventura County sheriff’s detectives took down a pair of young suspects allegedly tied to ghost guns and unlawful gun sales.

According to VCSD spokesman Capt. Rob Yoos, the investigation began in March when officials received a tip that 19-year-old Camarillo resident Logan Blade Secrease was “in possession of an unregistered firearm.”

As detectives dug deeper, they discovered Secrease was allegedly conspiring with Jorge Herrera, 20, of Oxnard, to “obtain and distribute illegal firearms.”

Armed with a warrant, authorities moved in on Herrera’s Oxnard home around 7 a.m. on June 18 . Herrera reportedly attempted to flee but didn’t get far before
detectives took him into custody.

A search of the property turned up evidence linking Herrera to the illicit sale of firearms.

Herrera was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was charged with unlawful transfer of a firearm and resisting arrest.

Not long after that same morning, detectives arrived at Secrease’s Camarillo residence where he was taken into custody without incident.

During the search, deputies recovered a Glock-style 9mm “ghost gun”—a firearm without a serial
number—alongside a 31-round extended magazine and an AR-15 upper receiver.

Secrease was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was charged with
conspiracy, unlawful transfer of a firearm, and possession of a large-capacity magazine.
