FILLMORE, CA — June 18, 2025 -BA two-month investigation into a violent stabbing in Fillmore has led to the arrest of 22-year-old Fillmore resident Nathan Alverdi.
Contact was made with Alverdi on June 18, pursuant to reported allegations he tried to
intimidate a community member assisting law enforcement personnel investigating the case.
The original incident occurred on April 15, when Ventura County Sheriff’s Department
deputies attached responded to reports of a fight on a residential street.
According to VCSD spokesman Capt Rob Yoos, “upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a stab wound.”
While deputies were securing the scene, a second victim—also stabbed—walked into the Fillmore Police Station seeking help. Both
victims were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals for treatment.
In the ensuing weeks, detectives from the Fillmore Bureau of Investigation pursued leads with
help from other sheriff’s units and the public.
Their investigation identified Alverdi as a suspect who had “allegedly confronted, battered, and threatened” a citizen who had attempted to provide
information about the stabbing.
On June 18, detectives from the Fillmore Bureau of Investigation and the West County Special
Enforcement Unit served a warrant at Alverdi’s residence, whereupon was taken into custody
without incident. During the search of his home, investigators uncovered “evidence connecting
Alverdi both to the stabbing and to a known criminal street gang.”
Alverdi was transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on multiple felony
charges, including dissuading a witness by force or threat and two gang-related enhancements.
He remains in custody on a no-bail hold.
