CAMARILLO, CA — June 16, 2025 – Ventura county task force takes down retail theft ring.
On the night of June 14, a countywide law enforcement crackdown on organized retail theft
landed eight suspects behind bars in what Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Cpt.
Rob Yoos described as “a high-impact operation” at a premium outlet center in the City of
Camarillo.
The Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force, in coordination with the Ventura County
District Attorney’s Office, the Sheriff’s Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit, and
Camarillo Patrol deputies, launched its latest “No Price Is Right.”
Martin Granados, 24, and Cristian Hernandez, 23, both of Newbury Park, allegedly hit several
stores before being confronted near their vehicle.
“Both fled on foot” but were quickly captured Granados was found in possession of brass knuckles.
Both were transported to Ventura County Jail, where they were booked on charges of conspiracy to commit organized retail theft and
resisting a peace officer.
Carlos Sanchez, 26, of Moorpark, and Luis Santiago, 25, of Oxnard, were taken into custody
after deputies recovered more than $2,200 in stolen merchandise from their vehicle—items
traced back to at least six different stores. Sanchez, already out on bail for previous theft charges,
is “a familiar face to the Task Force.”
Manuel Flores, 30, of Bakersfield, was cited and released after allegedly stealing $75 in
merchandise. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.
Sergio Rosas, 28, and Santiago Barrero, 29, both of Van Nuys, were arrested alongside a juvenile
male from West Covina.
The three are accused of stealing “over $2,600 in goods from 14 different stores across all three sections of the Camarillo outlet center.”
Rosas and Barrero were also booked for child endangerment due to the juvenile’s involvement. Rosas was additionally
charged with possession of burglary tools.
Granados, Hernandez, Sanchez, Santiago, Rosas, and Barrero were booked into Ventura County
Jail. Bail amounts varied, with Rosas released under pretrial monitoring. The juvenile was cited
and released to a parent.
