ORANGE, CA — Orange County investigators have reportedly arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal stabbing last week.
In a press release, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies had responded to the area of Rancho Santiago and Hewes Street in unincorporated Orange to investigate reports of people screaming and fighting in the early morning hours of Friday, June 13.
Responding deputies discovered a potential crime scene, and dispatch was informed shortly thereafter that that a man had been brought to the hospital with a stab wound to his chest.
The individual, identified as 24-year-old Sergio Esquivel Sanchez of Orange, was pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to authorities.
Homicide investigators identified the primary suspect in the fatal stabbing as Melchor Aleszi, 20, of Tustin.
Aleszi was reportedly arrested on suspicion of homicide and booked at the Orange County jail.
Authorities have declined to release any further information due to the ongoing investigation.
