Fresno Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Shooting of Nicholas Bolanos
FRESNO, CA — “On Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 6:51 om, officers were dispatched to a six round Shot Spotter activation near Griffith Way and Blackstone Avenue. 33-year-old Nicholas Bolanos was found hunched over and bleeding from the chest. Bolanos was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. Unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and spoke with witnesses, who identified 41- year-old Scott Alvarado as the suspect. Detectives learned that Bolanos and Alvarado were acquaintances and had been residing at the same residence for the past month. They were involved in a verbal disturbance during which Alvarado shot Bolanos. Detectives learned that after the shooting, Alvarado left Fresno and was possibly in the North Fork area of Madera County.
On Friday, June 13, 2025, plainclothes detectives from the Fresno Police Department located Alvarado and arrested him without incident in North Fork (Madera County, CA). Although an arrest has been made, detectives are still seeking information related to the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fresno Police Department.
