Fairfield Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with Two Armed Robberies
FAIRFIELD, CA — “At 6:10 pm on Tuesday 10 June, a business in the 5000 Business Center Drive was robbed at gunpoint. Surveillance footage was reviewed, and an area check of hotels was conducted by Officer N. Strickland for a person matching the culprit’s description.
During the subsequent groundwork, an employee at a local hotel identified the suspect as a guest who had not yet returned to their room. Later, at approximately 7:14 pm, while Officer Strickland was still conducting follow-up on the case, a second armed robbery, at another business in the 5000 block of Business Center Drive, was called in.
The suspect’s description matched that of the woman who robbed the first business.
Officer Strickland and a cover unit quickly responded and located the suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Castanya Tompkins, walking eastbound on Business Center Drive towards Green Valley Road.
Officers safely apprehended the woman and recovered the firearm, which was reported stolen out of Richmond, CA, along with a large sum of cash.
Tompkins was transported to Solano County Jail and faces charges of robbery and receipt of stolen property.”
