Clovis Man Reportedly Arrested on Felony Robbery, Kidnapping Warrant
CLOVIS, CA — “On Monday, June 9th, 2025, Kings County Deputies received critical intelligence from the Clovis Police Department regarding a potentially armed and dangerous suspect en route to the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino. We were provided with information on the vehicle associated with the individual, identified as 46 year-old James Earnest Johnson of Clovis, who had been listed as a Most Wanted subject by Valley Crime Stoppers on June 3rd, 2025.
At 2320 hours, a Deputy located the vehicle near the intersection of 18th Avenue and Jersey Avenue. A high-risk felony stop was immediately initiated where James was taken into custody without incident. A female passenger was briefly detained for questioning but subsequently released. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine. James admitted ownership of the substance.
The Clovis Police Department was promptly notified and responded to the scene. They took custody of James for the outstanding warrant issued out of Fresno County. The warrant pertains to multiple felony charges, including Penal Code 211, Felony Robbery; Penal Code 207, Felony Kidnapping; Penal Code 236, Felony False Imprisonment; Penal Code 245, Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon; and Penal Code 422, Felony Terrorist Threats. This warrant stipulated that James was ineligible for bail (No Bail).
Furthermore, a case will be submitted to the Kings County District Attorney’s Office for review and the potential filing of a formal complaint against James for possession of methamphetamine.
