Two Arrested in Connection with Alleged Violent Assault in Redding

REDDING, CA  —  “On May 21, 2025, officers with the Redding Police Department’s Neighborhood Police Unit (NPU) arrested two individuals in connection with a violent assault that occurred on May 16, 2025, at a residence located on the 19000 block of Bjan Lane in Redding.

The suspects, identified as Carlos Bishop, 25, and April Escobar, 24, were taken into custody without incident following the execution of arrest and search warrants at their residence in the 1500 block of Willis Street. Bishop is accused of striking multiple individuals with a firearm during the altercation. Escobar is alleged to have physically attacked an adult female victim, including stomping on the back of the victim’s head while she was unconscious. The victim remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a local hospital but is currently alive.

Due to the severity of the assaults and the evidence collected, investigators secured arrest and search warrants, which were executed on May 21.

Carlos Bishop and April Escobar were both booked into the Shasta County Jail on multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, felony assault causing great bodily injury, brandishing a firearm, and burglary.
