Residential Burglary Arrest

FILLMORE, CA  —  On April 10, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m., deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s
Office Fillmore Station responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 400 block of
Willard Road, located in the unincorporated area of Santa Paula.

Deputies arrived on scene and contacted the reporting party, who had detained the suspect, who
was identified as Robert Gibson, 67, of Ventura. According to VCSD spokesman Sgt. Jarrod
Foote, deputies “conducted an immediate investigation and confirmed that a burglary had
occurred.” Additional evidence located at the scene linked Gibson directly to the crime. Deputies
also recovered stolen property, which was returned to the victim.

Gibson was arrested and transported to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility,
where he was booked on suspicion of violating California Penal Code 459, defined as “entering a
structure with intent to commit theft or another felony.”

As Foote noted, residential burglaries are considered serious offenses “due to the potential for
confrontation or violence if residents are home.”
Gibson remains in custody on a no-bail hold.
