Man Arrested for Alleged Possession of Stolen Vehicle

“Deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested the suspect on Sunday with assistance from automated license plate reader technology.

On March 24, 2024 at approximately 3:20 p.m., San Mateo County Deputies from the Coastside Bureau were made aware of a vehicle traveling northbound in the area of Highway 1 near Princeton, which was stolen out of Soquel earlier in the day.

Deputies began to surveil the area, and a short time later, a Deputy spotted the stolen vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 1, north of the Tom Lantos Tunnels.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop and took the driver, 23-year-old Jose N. Ramirez Lopez of Santa Cruz, into custody without incident. Ramirez Lopez was later booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on the below charges:

14601.2(A) VC – Driving with a suspended license with a DUI conviction”
