A Santa Clara County man has been arrested in connection with the fatal assault of his partner’s father.
According to a press release by the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to a residence on the 50 block of Lester Avenue to investigate a report of a family disturbance on the afternoon of November 13.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious adult male who had allegedly been assaulted by his daughter’s boyfriend, identified as 33-year-old Nikolas Anderson.
Anderson was found inside the residence and was apprehended by patrol officers without incident. He was later booked on suspicion of assault.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Although the victim’s condition initially stabilized, he succumbed to his injuries on December 7. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office determined the cause of death to be homicide.
By this time, Anderson was no longer in custody. Detectives secured a new arrest warrant and took him into custody on December 7. He was booked at the Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of homicide.
It was unclear at press time whether Anderson had retained an attorney.
