SANTA CLARA COUNTY – The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department is reporting the shooting death of an unidentified victim and an identified suspect who was later shot during a high speed incident in which the passenger died at the scene.

Reports of the break-in occurred around 10:50 am Wednesday morning.  Santa Clara County Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call on Madrone Drive in Unincorporated Los Gatos detailing a home invasion robbery that left one man dead and two others injured. They were able to tell authorities what had happened, and were able to give a description of the getaway vehicle.

A Silver Prius was identified as the getaway vehicle by both victims.  The CHP was notified and was able to identify the vehicle seen driving near Lark Avenue on Highway 17.  Redmon was seen fleeing the driver seat when he tried to exit onto East Hamilton Avenue and subsequently crashing into the cement divider, severely injuring the passenger, who was taken to a local hospital but later died from their injuries.

The suspect, 43-year-old Andre Redmon, was subsequently arrested for murder, false imprisonment, kidnapping, attempted robbery and burglary at the site of the crash scene near East Hamilton Ave from Highway 17.
