Fresno police have reportedly arrested two individuals in connection with the murder of 61-year-old Patty Kennett.

In a press release, the department identified 54-year-old Lisa Hinthorne as the primary suspect in the murder, and 33-year-old Glenn Howard as an alleged accessory after the fact.

The investigation initially began on November 15 as a missing person case. Members of Kennett’s family were allegedly told that Kennett had been injured doing yard work at a family member’s residence and had been taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she later passed away. Kennett’s family checked local hospitals, but none had any record of Kennett being admitted. Soon, investigating officers discovered that there was no record of a 9-1-1 or ambulance call involving Kennett.

Due to the suspicious circumstances, Kennett was entered into the Missing and Unidentified Person database. Her vehicle, a 2017 Infiniti coupe, was also reported missing, police said.

Fresno PD Homicide Detectives soon served a search warrant at the home of Hinthorne, who is Kennett’s half-sister and reportedly was the last person to see her before she was reported missing. While conducting the search, detectives reportedly found evidence of a crime scene and that Kennett had been the victim of foul play. Detectives also obtained video surveillance footage incriminating Howard as an accessory after the fact.

On November 18, detectives found Kennett’s abandoned car in the city of Madera. Detectives later found blood in the vehicle’s trunk, police said.

Soon after, Howard himself reportedly led detectives to Kennett’s body, which was located in a secluded area off Highway 198 and Mineral Springs Road in Coalinga. The coroner later confirmed that Kennett had been the victim of a homicide. Howard was arrested as an accessory to the murder.

On Tuesday, November 28, Hinthorne was arrested and formally charged with murder. She was booked at the Fresno County jail.
