Hollister Police have opened an investigation into a recent fatal shooting on Monterey Street.
According to a press release by Hollister PD, officers responded to a report of a shooting victim on the 1000 block of Monterey Street just before midnight on October 23rd. Upon arrival shortly before midnight, officers encountered an adult male victim who was unconscious and not breathing. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Immediate life-saving measures were initiated by the responding officers. The medical care of the victim was transferred to personnel from the Hollister Fire Department and American Medical Response. Despite these efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Hollister Police Investigations Bureau was promptly notified and dispatched to the location to initiate an investigation. Following their inquiry, authorities are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
