Multi-Agency Operation leads to Seizure of Weapons and Narcotics

“Investigators with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from California Department of Fish and Wildlife and several allied agencies, conducted a four-day operation where over 35 search warrants were served in various areas of Trinity County. These search warrants focused on private properties illegally cultivating marijuana without State or County permits and associated environmental crimes.

As a result, a total of 47,152 marijuana plants and 6,181 pounds of processed marijuana were discovered and destroyed. 25 firearms were seized, including one AR-15 rifle with no serial numbers, over 10 pounds of restricted use/banned materials were collected and $235,900 of US Currency was seized. During the searches, numerous Fish and Game violations and Water Rights violations were also uncovered.

Numerous subjects were detained, interviewed and later released pending charges with the Trinity County District Attorney’s Office.

The criminal complaints stemming from this operation will be forwarded to the Trinity County District Attorney’s Office.
