Merced Man Reportedly Caught with Unserialized Assault Rifle

A Merced man was recently arrested on firearm charges after allegedly being caught with an unserialized assault rifle.

According to a press release by the Merced Police Department, the department’s Gang Unit served a search warrant on the morning of August 25 after receiving information that a man was in possession of an unserialized assault rifle and other firearms.

Officers arrived to serve the warrant at the home of Codee Lambert, 33, in the area of 12th and S Streets and reportedly saw Lambert leaving with the assault rifle in a duffle bag.

Officers searched his home and uncovered two shotguns, a rifle, and ammunition.

Lambert was arrested on various firearms-related charges.
