Man in Custody on Murder Charge Identified as Suspect in Second Homicide

“Back on April 2, 2023 at approximately 11:49 p.m., Stockton Police responded to the area of California St/Oak Street on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived on scene and located a male victim, 22, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers attempted lifesaving measures until AMR arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Homicide Detectives took over the investigation.
The Stockton Police Department Homicide Detectives have continued to work on this case since the homicide occurred. After obtaining additional evidence, the suspect was identified as Stacie Mischal, 19. Mischal has been in custody at the San Joaquin County Jail since his arrest on April 18, 2023 for the August 4, 2022 homicide that occurred at Morada Ln/Maranatha Dr. Today, July 14, 2023, an additional charge of homicide was added to Mischal’s booking status.
The Stockton Police Detectives continue to work tirelessly to ensure perpetrators are put behind bars and families receive answers.”
