Kern County Authorities Arrest Two for Alleged Possession of Stolen Property

Two individuals from Wofford Heights have reportedly been arrested for the alleged possession of stolen property.

According to a press release by the Sheriff’s Office, the arrests followed a probation check by deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Kern Valley Substation.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the two individuals as Melissa Pearce, 38, and Morgan Gutschenritter, 35. Both were found to be in possession of stolen property relating to a recent residential burglary in the area, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The deputies conducted the probation check on the residence located on the 600 block of Evans Road at approximately 2:26 a.m. on April 4th. During the check, Pearce and Gutschenritter were discovered to be in possession of the stolen items and were promptly arrested.

The duo now face charges for possession of stolen property and several other offenses, and have been booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office jail.

It was unclear at press time whether either had retained a lawyer or remained in custody.
