FREMONT — Eddie Moses, 40, who lives in Fremont, is a forklift driver frequently in trouble with the law. His violent history includes two convictions for assaults and one conviction for battery. Now he stands accused of murder. He is in custody ineligible for release on bond, pending a plea hearing on March 28.

Moses was arrested on February 16 at 8:16 p.m. Police found him at a gas station, near where a 48-year-old man was stabbed to death. Moses was booked into Santa Rita Jail, familiar surroundings for him. He has been arrested 18 times since 2012.

Fremont PD responded at 4:10 p.m., after a witness reported seeing two men fighting, near Stevenson Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway. Officers found a bloodied man, lying on the ground suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several persons witnessed his fatal stabbing. Officers found Moses at a Chevron gas station, located at 39707 Paseo Padre Parkway. The weapon Moses allegedly used to murder the victim was recovered as evidence. On February 17, Moses was charged with murder and use of a deadly weapon.

Moses is a frequent offender. He has nine prior arrests for assault and battery. His rap sheet also includes arrests for burglary, public intoxication, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Moses was convicted in 2020 and 2022 for assaults, and he was convicted in 2019 for battery. He was also convicted for residential burglary in 2010.
