“On February 7, 2023, at approximately 0221 hours, an ACSO Deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 26 and Joyce Road in Pioneer when he discovered a suspicious, occupied vehicle. Upon contacting the occupants, the Deputy observed numerous shotgun shells in the cab of the vehicle. A records check of the driver, identified as 35-year old David Lee Salke Jr. of Pioneer, revealed he was a convicted felon and was prohibited from possessing the ammunition. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Glock 20 handgun and a short-barreled shotgun. Salke was arrested and transported to the Amador County Jail where he was booked on numerous felony charges related to the possession of firearms and ammunition by a precluded person.”
