Amador County Man Arrested for Alleged CSAM Possession, Numerous Devices Seized as Evidence

An Amador County man has reportedly been arrested following a three-month investigation into the possible possession of child sexual abuse material (commonly abbreviated as CSAM).

According to a department media release, Ione Police investigators began an investigation on October 5, 2022, after receiving a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

After reviewing existing search warrants from the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force, investigators secured a new search warrant for the home of 27-year-old Anthony Doolin.

Investigators served the warrant at Doolin’s West Marlette Street home on the morning of Tuesday, January 24 of this year.

Investigators reportedly seized numerous electronic devices — phones, computers, and more — as well as additional evidence, including images, of child sexual abuse material.

Doolin was interviewed at his home during the search and ultimately taken into custody on suspicion of possession of obscene matter. He was booked at the Amador County jail.
