Man Arrested on Suspicion of Vehicular Manslaughter

COLTON — Just before 2 AM on December 24, Colton Police received a call regarding a subject lying in the road near an intersection.

Police arrived at the intersection, located at West C Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, and discovered a victim suffering blunt force trauma. The victim, a 33-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Colton Police Major Accident Investigation Team was then called in to investigate. Investigators determined the victim had been struck by a vehicle, and identified the suspected driver as Christopher Roman.

Investigators believe Roman was driving westbound on C Street and struck the victim, then fled the scene.

Police ultimately located Roman nearby and discovered that he appeared to be under the influence.

Roman was taken into custody and booked at the West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
