Delano PD Arrests 2 for Vehicle Theft and Firearms Offenses

Two men were arrested on November 23rd after a Delano PD Officer noticed a parked GMC pickup that was partially blocking the sidewalk. The officer also noticed 2 men inside the vehicle.

As the Officer approached the vehicle to talk to the occupants, the 2 men exited the truck and then fled to a garage where they attempted to hide. The Officer noticed that the front license plate was missing from the vehicle and the VIN was altered.

The officer was able to locate the VIN number on a decal inside the vehicle. He then ran the VIN and discovered that the truck was reported stolen by the Bakersfield PD. The officer also located a unregistered shotgun in the bed truck.

Both men were located in the garage and arrested. They were identified as Anthony Palacpac (38) and Anthony Pena (35) both convicted felons.

Both Pena and Palacpac are being held at the Kern County Sheriff’s Office – Central receiving Facility. They are being charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and felon in possessing firearm and ammunition. Palacpac is also being charged on additional felony warrant.
