“On August 10, 2021, Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the East Area Substations Section were dispatched to the area of 55th Street West and Mountain View Drive in Mojave, regarding a stolen Freightliner water truck. Deputies located the stolen vehicle at an illegal marijuana grow site just north of 55th Street West and Trotter Avenue. Deputies detained two subjects at the property and obtained a search warrant to search the large desert parcel.
During the execution of the search warrant, deputies located an additional stolen vehicle, approximately one-half pound of methamphetamine, 550 marijuana plants, and firearms ammunition.
Both subjects located at the property, identified as Arthur Chadwick and Jimmie Bowley, were arrested for numerous charges including Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales, Cultivating Marijuana, and Conspiracy.
