PINOLE — Police have arrested a woman suspected of being a party to a parking lot shooting last summer. The incident happened at the Pinole Valley Shopping Center, and the ensuing investigation has led to the arrest of Latasha Collor, a 37-year-old resident of Fairfield.

On the afternoon of August 12, multiple gunshots were fired in the parking lot near Trader Joe’s grocery store. All persons directly involved in the incident fled before police arrived on the scene.
However, witnesses were questioned. Surveillance camera video was reviewed. Police also recovered the firearm suspected of being used.

Authorities learned that the suspect and victim knew each other. It seems a dispute erupted between two groups of individuals in the parking lot. It escalated to gun violence, although no persons or vehicles in the parking lot were reportedly struck.

Recorded video and witness statements developed into investigatory leads. Pinole PD’s criminal investigations division took over the inquiry and followed up on leads.

In a prepared statement Pinole police said. “The investigation revealed a suspect discharged a firearm after a vehicular altercation occurred in the parking lot.”

On November 16, Collor was taken into custody in connection with the shooting. Police announced this break in the case on the same day she was arrested.

The investigation of this shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information concerning the altercation in the parking lot can contact Pinole PD investigations division at 510-724-1111.
