An arrest was made on November 10th, 2022 by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office for the October 27th murder of 20 yr old Andy The Van. Detectives arrested Peter Van Phan (26) of Sacramento County. He is being charged with one count of homicide and is being held in custody without bail.

On October 27th Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a shooting off Martin Luther King Blvd. A passerby phoned in the shooting after seeing a man in a crashed car with gunshot wounds. The vehicle had collided into a fence and Deputies found the driver with at least one gunshot wound sitting in the vehicle. The Deputies began CPR as they waited for EMTs to arrive. After Sacramento Metro Fire arrived they transported the victim to a local hospital, but unfortunately the victim died from his injuries hours later.

After a thorough investigation by Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators they arrested Phan for the murder.

This isn’t Phan’s first brush with the law either… law enforcement records show that in November of 2014 Phan was arrested for allegedly shooting at an inhabited dwelling/vehicle and alleged attempted murder. It is currently unclear what the outcome of that arrest was.

Phan’s is scheduled to appear in court November 14th in department 62.

Detectives are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (916)874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP. Anonymous tips and information can be left at www.sacsheriff.com or by calling (916)874-TIPS (8477)
