Wasco man reportedly arrested on child sexual assault charges

“On Thursday September 1, 2022, at approximately 3:52 p.m., a deputy from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Wasco Substation, conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle being driven by Juan Antonio Rodriguez, 46-year-old male from Wasco, near the intersection of Palm Avenue and Poso Drive in Wasco and was known to have an arrest warrant in relation to a child molestation/sexual assault of a minor investigation.

During the service of the arrest warrant for Rodriguez, a search of the vehicle being driven by Rodriguez was conducted and a concealed-loaded 9mm handgun with no serial number (a “ghost gun”) was located by deputies.

Rodriguez was subsequently arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for sodomy of a minor under the age of 16, lewd acts with a minor, oral copulation involving a minor under the age of 16, his misdemeanor arrest warrants, possession of a firearm within 1000 feet of a school, possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm by a gang member, and various additional charges.
