Fresno police have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 73-year-old man.

On the morning of Saturday, August 27, police found 73-year-old Robert Torres lying on the ground in the area of Orchard and Yale Avenues. Torres had reportedly sustained several gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives soon identified the primary suspect as 50-year-old Christopher Turner, a resident of the same neighborhood as Torres. Police say the shooting is believed to have resulted from a dispute between the two.

Turner was located and arrested the next day, August 28. He was booked at the Fresno County jail on suspicion of murder.
