“On September 4th, 2022, at approximately 3:23 AM, Redding Police officers were conducting extra patrols at Palisades Trail at the south end of Palisades Ave. When they drove into the parking area of the closed park, they observed a white colored Impala in the process of backing out. The vehicle then returned to its parked position. The officers stopped to investigate.

Officers identified 31-year-old Shawn Carbin as the driver of the vehicle. Carbin was found to be driving on a suspended drivers license. During a search of the vehicle, officers located drug paraphernalia, suspected heroin and cocaine, as well as a loaded handgun. Carbin was prohibited from possessing the firearm due to previous felony convictions, and was detained without incident.

Following the investigation, Carbin was booked into Shasta County Jail for charges related to criminal possession and transport of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and charges related to possession of the loaded firearm.”
