Shasta County man arrested in connection to fatal shooting in Whitmore

A Shasta County man was recently arrested in connection to an alleged homicide in Whitmore over the weekend.

29-year-old Christian Daniel Wilding was identified as the primary suspect in the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Russell Lee Harris. Deputies responded to the 3100 block of Whitmore Road on Sunday, August 28, where Harris was found dead of gun wounds.

After identifying Wilding as the primary suspect and distributing this information to local agencies, police received a tip on his possible whereabouts in Redding. Local police responded to the area, where they located Wilding and took him into custody during a traffic stop.

Wilding was booked at the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of murder, with bail set at $1 million.
