Sonoma County man arrested in connection to fatal parking lot stabbing

A Sonoma County man was recently arrested in connection to a fatal stabbing.

26-year-old Victor Ramirez-Plascencia was identified as the primary suspect in a fatal stabbing in Santa Rosa on the night of Thursday, August 11.

Police responded to the area of Sebastopol Road and West Avenue to investigate several reports of a stabbing. Witnesses had also reported seeing a man fleeing the scene, police said.

Mere minutes later, an officer located Ramirez-Plascencia in a nearby parking lot at Sebastopol Road and Dutton Avenue. Ramirez-Plascencia was reportedly armed with two folding knives and visibly agitated. Officers immediately began de-escalation efforts, and were ultimately able to take Ramirez-Plascencia into custody without force.

Ramirez-Plascencia was later booked at the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of murder.

The identity of the victim, a 34-year-old man, is being withheld pending an autopsy and notification of next of kin, according to police.
