Report of man with a gun leads to two arrests; third suspect still at large

Two men were arrested after someone reported seeing a man with a gun near a residential area in Rancho Cucamonga.  Police continue to search for a third suspect.

The report was made after 10 PM on Wednesday, June 1st.  Rancho Cucamonga police deputies Beidler and Wong responded to 26th Street and Center Avenue and observed three suspects flee the scene.  Two suspects, later identified as Tony Valencia (29) and Matthew Valencia (27), both residents of Montclair, fled on foot, while an unidentified suspect fled in a vehicle.

Matthew and Tony ran inside a residence in the 10000 block of 26th Street to evade police capture.  When officers entered the residence, they found Matthew hiding the attic and Tony in a crawl space.  Both men were arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center.

Tony was carrying a loaded weapon at the time of his arrest.  He was booked on multiple charges, including  carrying a loaded firearm by a gang member, carrying a loaded firearm/not the registered owner, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Matthew, when confronted by police, gave the wrong name and was charged with false impersonation.
