“Over the weekend we were advised of a social media post depicting a Wheatland Union High School 2022 Stole with the caption “Y’all ready for graduation WUHS!!!” with two rifles in the background. We immediately began an investigation and identified the person who made the post as a 17-year-old Olivehurst resident who does not attend WUHS.

In collaboration with the Yuba County District Attorney’s Office and the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department, we served a search warrant at the juvenile’s residence. This afternoon, with the assistance of the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department, we arrested the juvenile without incident, and booked them into Yuba County Juvenile Hall on felony criminal threats charge, 422 PC.

We want to thank the staff at WUHS, the Yuba County District Attorney’s Office and the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in bringing this investigation to a quick resolution.

Chief Sylvester said, “the safety of our community, schools, and students are our top priority, we will aggressively pursue anyone who puts our community in danger and see they are swiftly brought to justice.”
Based on the age of the juvenile, no other information will be released at this time.”
