“Olivehurst, Ca. – Yuba County Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday 4/14/2021 at approximately 2:45 p.m., in the area of Beverly Drive and Ardmore Avenue in Olivehurst. Yuba County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the roadway with callers advising it appeared to be multiple teenage juveniles with several cars involved.
Deputies responded to the area to locate one vehicle allegedly involved in the shooting, a white Honda Accord, had crashed. Three teens from that vehicle remained in the area and were later transported to a local hospital to be evaluated and treated for minor injuries sustained in the vehicle accident. It was determined that a fourth juvenile ran from that vehicle prior to deputies’ arrival and was no longer at the scene. No victims of gunshot wounds were located; but bullet shell casings were found in the street and collected for evidence.
Further investigation lead to the identity of a 14-year-old male juvenile suspect from Olivehurst who was arrested later that night for 246PC/Negligent Discharge of a Firearm and 245(a)(2)PC Assault with a Firearm. The case remains active and ongoing at this time, and we will update as further information becomes available.”
