“On 04/08/2022, at approximately 1816 hours, Banning Police Department Team 3 patrol officers were dispatched to a request for assistance by Union Pacific Railroad, reference subjects stealing packages from one of the train’s cargo containers.

Officers responded to the area and discovered three cargo containers had been broken into and property had been removed. During a search of the area, Banning Police Officers located four subjects moving packages nearby. After all subjects attempted to flee, Banning Officers were able to arrest three of the four subjects in connection with the burglaries.

The suspects arrested were identified as James Paredes (30 years of age), Brian Thompson (37 years of age), and Amanda Pertelle (33 years of age). All were later booked at Larry Smith Correctional Facility, in the City of Banning, for burglary (Penal Code 459) and conspiracy to commit a crime (Penal Code 182(a)(1)).

Banning Police Officers were able to recover over $3,100.00 in stolen FedEx packages that will be able to be returned to their rightful owners.
