On April 27th, 2022 a search warrant was served at a North Sacramento residence. The warrant came after a tip from Ceres Police Department, police said.

An adult resident of Ceres was reportedly communicating with a 25-year-old male in Sacramento. The pair were exchanging adult pornography, police said.

The Sacramento man then allegedly sent the Ceres man a video of himself “being orally copulated by a female child between 2 and 4 years of age.” It was at this time that the Ceres resident alerted authorities.

Officers determined that the victim also lived with the suspect, based on evidence found in the home during the search. Police believe that the child may be the suspect’s 2-year-old daughter.

Sgt. Juan Hidalgo from ICAC noted during his press conference that Governor Gavin Newsom’s 2022-2023 budget has at this time, excluded funding for future ICAC programs (Internet Crimes Against Children).

If funding is not included, Sgt. Juan Hidalgo says that “all dedicated ICAC personnel will be removed from combating child exploitation and abuse.”
