“Wednesday, April 20, 2022 around 2:00 PM, a male suspect broke into an elderly victim’s home in the 1700 block of Elm Street. The victim left the residence while contacting the Fairfield Police Department.

During that time Fairfield Dispatch received another report from an Amazon employee that the suspect threatened to kill him and take his delivery truck. The suspect was not known to the victims.

Fairfield Officers responded and saw the male suspect inside the residence running around. Officers attempted to call the suspect out numerous times without success.

After numerous attempts to call the suspect out of the home, and the use of de-escalation techniques and tools, officers entered the home in an attempt to arrest the suspect.

K9 Cort contacted the suspect, and the suspect bit K9 Cort in the face and stabbed him on his left side with a knife.

The suspect appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Officers were able to safely take the male into custody.

K9 Cort was treated at UC Davis Veterinary Hospital and is comfortably recovering at home with his handler.

Kurt Dasilva, a 44-year-old male was treated at a local hospital and booked into Solano County Jail on several felony charges.
