The Kings County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection to a recent fatal stabbing.

36-year-old Ivan Gutierrez was identified as the primary suspect in the fatal stabbing of 52-year-old Scott Jeff of Lemoore, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Jeff was found unresponsive on the 16600 block of Saltgrass Avenue in Lemoore early on the morning of Friday, March 25th. He had sustained a single stab wound and was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies had reportedly been dispatched to investigate a disturbance between the same two men in the same area earlier that morning, but the call had been terminated.

Shortly after detectives responded to the murder scene, Gutierrez himself returned and was found to have a knife in his possession, the Sheriff’s Office said.

After being identified as the primary suspect, Gutierrez was ultimately arrested and booked at the Kings County Jail on suspicion of homicide, with bail set at $5 million.
