A Fresno man has been arrested in connection to the alleged sex trafficking of a 14-year-old girl, according to police.

On Saturday, March 12, officers responded to a report of a young female being seen jumping out of a vehicle. The victim, a 14-year-old girl, told officers she’d just been physically assaulted and jumped out of the vehicle to escape.

The girl was taken in for medical evaluation, during which time Special Investigations officers joined the case and began to suspect that the girl had been the victim of human trafficking. Detectives soon identified the primary suspect in trafficking the girl as 19-year-old Avery Johnson.

Detectives located and arrested Johnson on March 17, and booked on suspicion of trafficking a minor, pandering, pimping, and committing a felony while out on bail.
