“The Davis Police Department Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Unit (COPPS) has been busy taking illegally possessed firearms off the streets of Davis.
On February 17, 2022, Davis Police Detectives conducted a probation search in the 1300 block of Drake Drive. During the search, Detectives located a loaded Hi-Point .40 caliber pistol that was unregistered and illegally possessed.
Mason John, a 23-year-old Davis resident, was placed under arrest for felony possession of a firearm and prohibited person in possession of ammunition. John was transported to and booked at the Yolo County Jail.
On February 24, 2022, Davis Police Detectives served a search warrant in the 900 block of Cranbrook Court for firearms. During the search, a loaded Taurus G3C 9MM pistol that was unregistered and illegally possessed was located. Chrisawn Manion, a 34-year-old Davis resident, was placed under arrest for possessing a firearm when prohibited by a court order and booked at the Yolo County Jail.
