“On February 14th, 2022, at approximately 11:39 P.M., Redding Police Officers responded to Sports LTD, located at 950 Hilltop Dr, to investigate a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, Officers spotted Steven Billups, 35 years of Redding, riding a bicycle from the rear of the business. Billups, who is on active Parole, was detained while Officers continued their investigation.

Officers found fresh damage to a door at the business, which appeared consistent with a recent burglary attempt. Officers were able to view video surveillance at the location. The video clearly depicted Billups as he used a crowbar to attempt to force his way into the business. Billups was unsuccessful in his attempt and was leaving the location when Officers arrived.

Billups was found to still be in possession of the crowbar used in the burglary attempt. He was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, other burglary tools, several bank cards and checks that did not belong to him, and stolen property unrelated to this incident.

Billups was booked for Attempted Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Bank/Access Cards, and violation of his Parole.”
