Domestic Violence and Infant Found Murdered

LONG BEACH – When Long Beach Police Department Dispatch received word of a domestic violence (DV) incident on February 9th, Officers rushed to the 5400 block of Altantic Avenue. Upon arrival on-scene at approximately 7AM, a series of investigation measures revealed gruesome results.

First, a female victim was located – who’d stated that she’d been assaulted by her boyfriend, Jeremy Wade (23) of Los Angeles. She added that they share a 10-month-old child.

The DV victim informed Patrol Officers that Wade and the child were asleep in a nearby hotel. However, Wade and the infant were located in a motel room.

Further investigation revealed that the infant was unresponsive – requiring them to render immediate life-
saving measures. Personnel from Long Beach Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter, for swift transport to a nearby hospital.

Little Isiah Gaston survived for a while, but later succumbed to his injuries. The suspicious nature of the circumstances led Homicide Detectives to the DV scene.

Evidence was unearthed that Wade had indeed caused the serious bodily injury to the infant. The results were Isiah Gaston’s death.

Jeremy Wade was arrested and booked for murder, transported to Long Beach City Jail, and is being held on $2 Million Bail. As a result, Investigating Detectives intend to present the domestic violence leading to the infant-murder-case to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration, later this week.

It’s important to note that this investigation information at this point is preliminary and is intended for early information use – rather than being a formal investigative report. In addition, Homicide Detectives are asking for your help at this time.
