Merced – Merced PD Gang Unit arrested a suspect in possession of narcotics for sale and for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

On January 21, 2022 the Merced Police Departments Gang Violence Suppression Unit followed up on information regarding Edward Blaylock (50) in possession of narcotics for sale. Gang officers located Blaylock driving and arrested him for an outstanding warrant.

Officers searched Blaylock’s vehicle and located several packages of methamphetamine, cocaine, and mushrooms. Officers also located packaging material, scales and money related to narcotic sales.

Gang Officer Arnulfo Centeno obtained a search warrant for Blaylock’s residence where more narcotics and a rifle were located. Blaylock is prohibited from possessing firearms. Blaylock was arrested for sales of narcotics and for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
